Subtronics Announces Title and Release Date of Sophomore
Album
The mad scientist Subtronics is once again working with unstable particles after announcing his sophomore album, TESSERACT.
Just over two years after the release of his debut album, FRACTALS, comes the formal reveal of the next chapter in the Subtronics saga. The album shares a name with the bass music superstar's current tour and it's scheduled to drop on Friday, February 16th.
The Cyclops Recordings founder's team also developed a bespoke audiovisual experience aligning with TESSERACT, complete with mind-bending visual elements.
“Sonically speaking, I believe this wholly represents my personality and sound as best as I can thus far, with the things I have learned over the years, in conjunction with what I have recently been inspired by," Subtronics said in a statement. "TESSERACT is a proper sequel to my first album FRACTALS and in the same sense, I once again aimed to demonstrate my range in style, sound, and emotion. Some songs are meant for the dancefloor, some are meant for the car, and some are meant to serenade you to sleep. I am trying as best I can to create an immersive alternative reality with a magical yet sci-fi-esque world of energy and feeling across the entire spectrum."
It's been a start to 2024 for Subtronics, who recently announced his fourth Red Rocks takeover, "Cyclops Rocks," and dropped his second collaboration with Rezz, "Black Ice." His comments paint TESSERACT as a defining moment in his career.
"I hope [TESSERACT] leaves a long-lasting impact on the listener and the dance music community as a whole. It is truly something I can look back on in 30 years and still be proud of because I know that this is the sound I am truly passionate about, and I really gave it my everything. This album is my second child, more than two years in the making, and I poured everything I could into it."
