Eliminate Shares Genre-Fluid Debut Album, ‘Get Off The Internet’

Genre-bending bass producer Eliminate has unleashed his much-anticipated debut album, Get Off The Internet, out now via Create Music Group.

Pulling together elements of dubstep, hyperpop, hardstyle and pop, the 13-track LP is a wild ride through electronic sounds of all flavors, cutting up samples and sonic experiments from “the most bizarre corners of the internet.”

This collage of soundscapes is displayed in Get Off The Internet’s opening track, “thinkaboutit,” which brings together chilling vocals and a hard switch to glitchy chopped-up dubstep. The album continues with melodic lead single “Dawn,” a collaboration with bass titan Flux Pavilion, before turning up the heat even further on hard-hitting tracks like “EGOTRIP” and “SMSOU.”

The quippy lyric, “Hey stupid idiot, get off of the internet,” sets the tone for title track, “Get Off The Internet,” an infectious anthem sonically similar to Skrillex’s early productions. Tracks like “hear.EXE” and “comecloser” respectively add drum & bass and bass house into the mix, before Eliminate journeys through more experimental sounds on “MOREPWR” and “f_ck you,” which features original vocals performed by the artist.

Dreamy lyrics and synth melodies take center stage on “Playing With Fire,” while vocal screams from hardcore band I Set My Friends On Fire define a punk rock aesthetic found on “Poison Oak.” Eliminate then diverges into lightly layered color bass on “Waste My Time” before an array of ethereal sounds on “happyending” bring the album to a close, signing off with an audible “mouse click.”

Get Off The Internet is just the latest in a string of boundary-pushing productions from Eliminate. The Los Angeles-based producer burst onto the scene with “Snake Bite VIP” in 2016 and has further cemented his production prowess with hits like “Weeble Wobble” and “Turning My Cat’s Meow Into Dubstep,” a zany pandemic-induced track, which features vocals from his beloved feline Walter.

In 2024, Eliminate’s touring endeavors will be anchored by an exciting performance at Red Rocks for Ganja White Night’s annual Wobble Rocks event this May.
