FISHER, Chris Lake and Sante Sansone Revive Iconic 2011 Earworm, "Somebody That I Used to Know"

It's 2024 now. And if our math is mathing, that means 2011 was 13 years ago, when Game of Thrones premiered on HBO, Gotye and Kimbra released "Somebody That I Used to Know," Steve Jobs resigned from Apple and Charlie Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men.

Whether or not you're a fan of all of the above, you can't ignore the fact that they were all iconic moments in their own way. Exhibit A: "Somebody That I Used to Know" became an instant hit, earning two Grammys in 2013 and taking over radio stations around the world for years to come.

Originally written, produced and performed by Australian musician and singer Gotye, the post-breakup ballad also features vocals from New Zealand singer-songwriter Kimbra. Now, the tune has received a stunning rework from a pair of icons in the electronic dance music scene.

FISHER and Chris Lake have teamed up with Italian dance music producer Sante Sansone to deliver their hotly anticipated take on the iconic earworm. Dubbed "Somebody (2024)," the uptempo groove is infused with a thick bassline, teasing the lead melody before a sudden drop with the timeless chorus triggers our nostalgia within.

"Somebody (2024)" is out now via Island/Samples 'n' Seconds Records. You can listen to the new single below.

FISHER's "Take It Off" was named one of EDM.com's best songs of 2023. He's now gearing up for another massive year after the announcement that he and Lake will be continuing their fruitful collaboration, "Under Construction," via a headlining set at Miami's Ultra Music Festival as well as Parklife in summer 2024. Not to mention his very own TRIIP Festival in Malta at the end of May, which features a lineup with Lake, Cloonee, Sonny Fodera, TSHA and more.

You can find "Somebody (2024)" on streaming platforms here.
