Update: EDC Mexico Attendees Stampede Gates Due to Long Wait
Times
Editor’s Note: Earlier reporting noted a possible cancellation but that has since been found to be false. All operations on the final day of the festival proceeded as normal.
A crazy video has surfaced from EDC Mexico this past weekend depicting angry festival attendees storming through the gates after reported long wait times. We don’t know how long wait times were yet exactly, or any other details as of now, but the video is definitely telling, as fans remove the barricade and push through the festival entrance.
The news is reminiscent of the Electric Zoo fiasco, which took place this past September. Angry fans waited in will call lines over five hours before storming the gates. We do, however, have higher hopes that EDC Mexico can turn things around on its final day, as an Insomniac event.
EDC Mexico kicked off on Friday, February 23rd and ends tonight, February 25th in Mexico City. The stacked lineup includes Acraze, James Hype, Svdden Death, Nina Kraviz, Tchami x Malaa: No Redemption, Don Diablo, Dillon Francis, Alan Walker, Barely Alive, Showtek, Yellow Claw, David Guetta, Chris Lorenzo, and CamelPhat. Other huge names stopping by are Dombresky, Armin Van Buuren, Andrew Rayel, Rezz, Maceo Plex, Richie Hawtin, Skrillex, Sofi Tukker, Steve Aoki, Vintage Culture, Virtual Riot, W&W, Zedd, and many more.
Stay tuned for more details.
