Watch the Haunting Music Video for Gesaffelstein's New
Single, "Hard dreams"
Gesaffelstein has released a new single, "Hard dreams," his first original music in nearly five years.
Fusing dystopian beats with raw human emotion, the track is one of 11 to appear on the electronic music icon's upcoming album GAMMA, which is scheduled to release on March 29th.
Gesaffelstein joined forces with French compatriot Yan Wagner, who co-wrote the song and provided its brooding vocals. The Parisian producer and singer-songwriter plays a pivotal role in GAMMA, according to a media alert shared by Gesaffelstein's management, Savoir Faire.
"While Aleph was mainly an instrumental album, and Hyperion welcomed a number of features, GAMMA finally gives a voice to Gesaffelstein through the talented artist and vocalist Yan Wagner," per Savoir Faire.
The eerie tendrils of Gesaffelstein's signature sound are woven through "Hard dreams," its cyberpunkian synths slicing the mix like a hot knife through butter. But amidst the shadowy soundscapes is an undeniable emotional undercurrent, the sort of anguished romanticism that pervades many of his best tracks: "Finger on the trigger, letting it all out / Bursting with desire, I can deal without," Wagner croons.
