Hedex To Play Charity Rave In Memory Of Young Fan’s Death

Drum & bass star Hedex will play a charity rave in the UK honoring devoted 19-year-old fan Dan Cracknell, who tragically died of a brain tumor in February of last year.

The event, which will be held at Ashby, UK nightclub Ciros on Friday, April 19, will raise funds for Rainbows, a nearby non-profit hospice that cares for babies, children, and young adults with severe and terminal illnesses.

Rainbows cared for Cracknell in his final weeks, during which Hedex, the rapidly ascending jump-up artist and Cracknell’s favorite DJ, visited him in hospice.

“Drum and bass was Dan’s life,” his mother, Francesca Brierley, said in an event announcement on Rainbows’ website. “He loved to party and he was always out at a rave.”

“At Rainbows, it was all of the little things that meant such a lot. And it really felt like we were family,” she continued. “We want to raise as much money and awareness as we can and we hope people will support us.”

In addition to a headline set from Hedex, known for his hit original track “MHITR (Semi-Automatic),” his “Liquor & Cigarettes” collab with Chase & Status and a wildly popular “Move Your Bodyremix, the charity rave will feature a full lineup of local DJs, fire breathers, stilt walkers and face painters.

Tickets are available at Ciros Nightclub for £20. For more information on the event and Cracknell’s story, visit the Rainbows website.

Later this summer, Hedex’s My Home Is The Rave North American tour will see him perform in cities such as Denver, San Francisco, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. He’ll also perform at Shambhala, HARD Summer and North Coast Music Festival.
