San Francisco’s Portola Music Festival Announces 2024 Lineup

After last week’s widely publicized lineup leak, California promoter Goldenvoice has officially announced the bill for the 2024 edition of San Francisco’s Portola Music Festival.

Portola will return to Pier 80, a 60-acre former industrial site on the San Francisco Bay, on September 28 and 29, 2024. Now in its third year, the festival will again showcase acts at the niche crossroads of electronic and alternative music, with performances spanning house, techno, indie dance, pop, drum & bass and hip-hop.

Portola 2024 will feature landmark headline performances from heroes of indie dance such as Justice, Gesaffelstein, Jamie xx, Four Tet, and RÜFÜS DU SOL, who have promised to debut new tunes at the event.

Dichotomous house music icons FISHER and Disclosure will also headline, in addition to a performance from M.I.A., the rapper-producer who accidentally leaked Portola’s 2024 lineup in a social media post last week. 

Organizers have embraced the leak on social media in the days since, with today’s social media lineup announcement featuring the quip, “Yea, it’s real. Sorry we were m.i.a.”

Elsewhere on the Portola lineup are venerated duo Soulwax, singer-songwriter Jessie Ware, Bicep—presenting their new CHROMA AV show, and San Francisco’s own Tycho and Deltron 3030.

Favorites like Honey Dijon, Mochakk and Astra Club (Carlita B2B DJ Tennis) will deliver house performances, while the likes of Sara Landry and Boys Noize B2B VTSS will fly the flag for techno. Drum & bass, jungle and UK bass will also get some love at this year’s festival, with sets from Chase & Status, Nia Archives and Mount Kimbie, among others.
