LCD Soundsystem Announce Eight-Date LA Residency This Fall

LCD Soundsystem is heading back to the West Coast for its first Los Angeles residency in seven years.

James Murphy’s famous indie-dance ensemble will split its eight-date California run across two venues this fall. Nightly shows from October 31 to November 3 are slated for the Shrine Expo Hall, and gigs from November 7-10 will be held at the Hollywood Palladium, where the band played its last LA residency in 2017.

LCD Soundsystem’s newly announced California dates will build on a big slate of North American shows completed by the band earlier this year, including a trio of gigs in Mexico, a headline set at Salt Lake City’s Kilby Block Party, and four-night stands in Seattle and Chicago, among others.

The band’s busy 2024 will continue into the summer with a landmark show at Dublin’s Malahide Castle later this month before making further European stops in Scotland, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and England—for festivals like Glastonbury, London’s All Points East, and Bristol’s Forwards Festival.

Currently comprising musicians James Murphy, Nancy Whang, Pat Mahoney, Tyler Pope, Korey Richey, Abby Echiverri, and Nick Millhiser, LCD Soundsystem first rose acclaim in 2005 upon the release of the group’s namesake debut album, LCD Soundsystem, featuring his like “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House” and “Losing My Edge.”

More classics like “All My Friends” and “Dance Yrself Clean” respectively arrived on the band’s 2007 and 2010 albums Sound of Silver and This Is Happening, before a brief split in 2011.

Since their 2017 comeback album, american dream, the group has remained relatively quiet on the new music front. However, in 2022, they released “new body rhumba,” the first new LCD Soundsystem song in five years, as part of the soundtrack for Noah Baumback’s film, White Noise.

Pre-sale registration for LCD Soundsystem’s 2024 Los Angeles residency is now available here. Pre-sale access will begin this Wednesday, June 5, at 10AM PT. General on-sale will follow on Friday, June 7, at 10AM PT.
