The generational producer has always possessed a knack for crafting music that seamlessly bridges the past and present. Whether showcasing his encyclopedic knowledge of R&B and soul or collaborating with the music industry's corps d'elite, Kaytranada effortlessly fuses his deep musical heritage with contemporary innovation and allows his music to transcend the test of time.

That's showcased beautifully in the Canadian beatsmith's new project, the aptly-titled TIMELESS, his first solo album in five years. Spanning 21 tracks, the two-pronged album is filled with star-studded collaborations, from Childish Gambino to Tinashe. But the album remains unmistakably Kaytranada throughout, imbuing his trademark electro-funk style with tinctures of vintage hip-hop and pop.

The opening track, "Pressure," is a tribute to Lupe Fiasco and Jay-Z's 2006 track of the same name, but brings us into an atmosphere that feels like a vibrant, neon-lit nightclub buzzing with energy. As the album unfolds, tracks like "Feel A Way" and "Witchy" fan the flames of this intoxicating allure with lush synths, pulsating percussion and soul-stirring basslines.

True to its name, TIMELESS emanates a nostalgic yet accessible retro vibe throughout, evoking memories of bygone eras while beckoning you to lose yourself in the present moment.
