The Winner of This Remix Contest Will Get Their Music in a New Atari Video Game

Producers, here's your chance to have your music featured in a console game from the iconic Atari.

Electronic music production school ICON Collective has teamed up with Atari for a new remix contest inspired by the company's upcoming game, Yars Rising, a spiritual successor to 1982's classic Yars' Revenge. Producers are tasked with remixing "Disconnection," a song by from the original game's official soundtrack by Moe Shop and YUCe, and the winner will have their remix featured.

Atari and ICON will be awarding three remixes. Third place will receive a shout-out on both companies' social media channels, a copy of the game and a ticket to the "ICON Rising Training Camp" in Los Angeles this fall. Second place will receive a "Yars Rising care package," an "ICON swag pack" and a ticket to the training camp. The grand prize winner's music will feature in Yars Rising and they'll also secure the care package and one month of weekly mentoring sessions with an ICON Collective instructor.

The competition will run from June 21st to July 12th, 2024 and the finalists will be announced the following week. You can find the complete details and submit your remix on the here.

Yars Rising is slated for release on September 10th, 2024 on Xbox One and Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch and PC. Learn more about the game here.
