What So Not, Benson and Lucy Lucy Unveil Radiant Single, "Lights Go Out"

Once simply another coveted ID, "Lights Go Out" from What So NotBenson and Lucy Lucy is now the immortalization of the artists' decade-long friendship.

"This tune was birthed from FM synthesis and true friendship," What So Not explained. "Benson letting me sleep on his couch all those years ago so I could afford my first ever gigs in Melbourne, and Lucy living down the street from my parents, doing some of her first solo recordings with me in my bedroom studio. It’s been a long time coming for everyone hounding my DMs about it and now it's finally here for the world!"

Recorded between Sydney and Melbourne, the track made its grand debut at What So Not's recent sold-out show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The premiere at such an iconic venue illuminated the track's potential, instantly resonating with fans and sparking requests for its official release.

"Lights Go Out" opens with bell-like synth melodies resonating with crystalline clarity above a foundation of thumping 808s. The formidable percussion work provides a solid backbone, grounding the track's ethereal soundscapes and vocals with a contrasting edge.

As What So Not prepares to launch his "Dance Dance Revival" tour across Australia, "Lights Go Out" serves as both a rallying cry and a testament to the resilience of the local Australian dance music scene. The tour aims to revitalize the industry and offer emerging artists a platform to showcase their talents, a mission close to What So Not's heart and a timely initiative given the impact of recent festival cancellations on the Australian dance music community.
