Balenciaga Sells Over $2,700 “Raver Used Bracelet” In New
Collection
Ravers know that festival wristbands can be fashion statements, and Balenciaga thinks so too.
The French luxury fashion brand is now selling a “raver used bracelet” for an eye-popping €3,500 (just over $2,700 USD). That’s more than five trips to Coachella, based on 2024 general admission ticket prices, and you don’t get to see Lana Del Rey, Justice, or John Summit perform live.
Appearing in Balenciaga’s Fall/Winter 2024-2025 Haute Couture Collection, the fully adjustable, hand-embroidered bracelet is intentionally distressed to imitate a frayed and ratty festival band that looks like it’s been pulled straight from the wrist of a festivalgoer fresh from three days of dancing in the Yuma Tent.
Available in pink, black, and blue polyester and linked by a sterling silver 925 clasp, the new accessory can only be purchased by appointment at Balenciaga’s George V Couture Store in Paris due to a manufacturing process that “requires a full day’s work for each piece,” according to the brand. A second style with a metallic thread is also available for €4500 (over $4,800 USD).
A product description on Balenciaga’s website explains that the bracelet is made using various artisanal techniques dating back to 1850, including “seed stitch, drawn thread work, point de Boulogne, satin stitch, stem stitch, and front-and-back chain stitch.” The description adds that these embroidery styles “create a wide range of textures and effects, making each piece unique and intricate.”
