Resonance Studios: Third Largest Of Its Kind Opens Its Doors

Resonance Studios has opened in Stockport, UK. It offers a stunning collection of vintage and rare gear and complimentary sessions for local institutions.

Resonance Studio is a new state-of-the-art facility less than 500m from Strawberry Studios (10cc, Joy Division). It is dedicated to preserving musical heritage and ensuring future generations can experience and use a world-renowned collection of exceptional instruments.

The studio homes over 250 pieces of new and vintage music equipment, including legendary items such as:

• Synclavier II
• Linn LM1
• 2 Arp 2600s
• Yamaha CS50
• Yamaha CS60
• Voyetra 8

Plus, incredibly rare gear, with fewer than 150 of each still in existence:

• The Waldorf Wave
• Baloran The River and The Pool
• Knas The Ekdahl Polygamist
• Yamaha DX1

As the third largest studio of its kind globally, Resonance Studios is on a mission to provide musicians with access to these extraordinary instruments and additionally offers comprehensive recording, MIDI sync, and tracking capabilities.

The "sampling station" is equipped with twin Technics 1210 turntables, Emu SP12 (Public Enemy, Beastie Boys), Akai MPC60 (DJ Premier, DJ Shadow), and a library of over 3,000 LPs and singles, provides an authentic and diverse sampling experience.

The studio's mixing and mastering setup features elite-level equipment such as Neve 1073DPX Preamps and 8816 Summing Mixer, Shadow Hills Master Compressor, 2 Distressors, and iconic effects, including the Publison Infernal Machine 90, Lexicon 224, and Eventide H3000 with monitoring by a partnership with Focal.

Resonance Studios has also launched with a commitment to donate 3% of all profits to Shelter, a UK charity that supports efforts to combat homelessness. The remaining profits are reinvested into maintaining and expanding the studio's collection and ensuring its longevity.

Further community efforts include a collaboration with local institutions to offer free studio sessions, making this incredible facility accessible to musicians who might otherwise never have the opportunity.
