    The Psychology of the Dancefloor: An A State of Trance Documentary @ [UNVRS]

    For this 10-minute mini-documentary, we teamed up with professional psychotherapist Rachel Giddings to explore what happens in the minds of the fans on the dancefloor during my five-hour set at [UNVRS]. This documentary is very special to us because it is about you: the person on the dancefloor. — The five-stage framework in this film draws on the work of Arnold van Gennep and Émile Durkheim, and on contemporary research into music and social bonding by Robin Dunbar and colleagues. It is further informed by the writing of Victor Turner and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Its application to the experience of a live set is the interpretation of Rachel Giddings.
