Olivia “Livi” Quiroz Roa, a senior music editor at Spotify based in Mexico City, lends her voice to “Livi,” ensuring an authentic connection with Spanish-speaking users. For Spotify, the AI DJ is more than just a tech gimmick. It’s a powerful tool that has demonstrably increased music consumption on the platform. Spotify’s data shows that DJ users are avid listeners, and the feature’s popularity has skyrocketed with over 200% growth in the past year.

The AI DJ is built using a combination of technologies from OpenAI and Sonantic, an AI voice platform Spotify acquired in 2022.
