Mau P Masterfully Blends Hip-Hop and Electronic In ‘On Again’

Summer season is right around the corner, and more amazing tracks continue to grace our lovely ears. This time, its coming from International House Star Mau P. On a very special song, the DJ uses his own vocals in the smooth and groovy ‘On Again‘. The Hip-Hop/Electronic mashup is an Insomniac release with collaboration from legend producer Mike Dean.

On And On Again

Hot on the heels of his VIRAL B2B performance with Diplo on Coachella’s new Quasar stage this month, this track marks a major moment for Mau P as he steps into the spotlight not only as a master producer, but a versatile artist. With a dedication to experimentation, ‘On Again’ goes beyond the beats as the serial hit-maker fuses together Electronic and Hip-Hop elements to create an infectious new release uniquely in a category of its own.

Mau P’s distinctive, high-energy sound is the undeniable driving force behind the track, elevated by a powerful hook and the trademark synth work of Mike Dean. With a 30+ year career working with the most high-profile music industry artists such as The Weeknd, Beyoncé, Kid Cudi, Travis Scott, Jay-Z, Drake and beyond, Dean’s contribution not only solidifies its undeniable clout, but showcases Dutch DJ Mau P’s ability to cross-genres as he carves out his own place in the industry. The signature feature of ‘On Again’ is none other than Mau P’s own vocals.

The release of ‘On Again’ all comes ahead of his Sold-out 7,500+ person BADDEST BEHAVIOUR – UNDER THE K BRIDGE show this September in NYC and, just as his previous hits ‘Drugs In Amsterdam’ and ‘Gimme That Bounce‘, it will be nothing short of massive.

More of Mau P

It is not often that an artist of Mau P’s caliber joins the ranks in Electronic music. One of the break-out stories of the decade, ‘Drugs From Amsterdam’ originator Mau P has indisputably left his mark on the Dance music scene since his debut single release.

Born Maurits Westveen into a family brimming with musical genius. He quickly made his way onto the world’s premier stages and into the hearts of many as Maurice West. Despite everything seemingly running smoothly, the Maurice West project had run its course and an aseismic shift was in the works. Fast forward to today and Mau P is reaping the rewards of a leap of faith. In effect, the wager on his artistry paid off in a spectacular manner.

His debut single rocketed from the underground. It became a huge global hit with close to two hundred million streams across platforms. ‘Drugs From Amsterdam’ cracked the charts and topped Beatport’s prestigious Top 10 for over a month. Nevertheless, it turned out to be the beginning of a meteoric upwards trajectory. Mau P released the follow up, ‘Gimme That Bounce’ right as he was embarking on his first North America tour. A tour that sold out shows from coast to coast. The summer that followed, Mau P was firing on all cylinders, releasing official remixes for the Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris and Armand van Helden as well as his original collaboration with Kevin de Vries, ‘Metro’ on Afterlife. The latter of which became the most-played track of Tomorrowland 2023.

2024

In 2023 Mau P also released ‘Your Mind Is Dirty’ and ‘Dress Code’. They both turned out hugely successful in their own right. Over the course of his first full year in business, Mau P graced acclaimed stages across the globe. From EDC Las Vegas to Tomorrowland and from Hï Ibiza to Amsterdam Dance Event, He won over fans one beat at a time. This foundation of high-profile performances and successful releases set up Mau P for a truly spectacular start to 2024. Mau P started 2024 by announcing the release of his most sought-after ID yet, ‘Beats For The Underground’. Then he announced his new SiriusXM radio show XXX Radio. Moreover, he became a Wynn Las Vegas resident DJ. Not long after, Mau P confirmed a back-to-back slot with Diplo on Coachella’s brand new Quasar stage.

‘On Again’ is one track you will want to hear on every set you see this summer.
