Hamdi Drops UKG Edit Of Fred Again’s “leavemealone”
Hamdi (real name Alex Hamdi) has just dropped a UKG edit of Fred Again..’s wildly popular “leavemealone” on Soundcloud.
The original, released by Fred Again.. real name Frederick John Philip Gibson, has a Drum & Bass beat with vocals sampled from Baby Keem’s “south africa” and “BULLIES.”
Gibson even posted a sample breakdown on his Instagram last month, showcasing the true genius behind the track.
Fellow sample wizard and UK resident, Hamdi, decided to drop his own unique spin on the record. Channeling his UKG routes, Hamdi shifted the vocals to a higher pitch, added some irregular 2-step beats and the genre-defining stutter sounds to the track.
Hamdi has been taking the world by storm this past year and is just getting started. Although he has been working on the Hamdi project for close to a decade, his release of “Skanka” in 2022 put him on the global map.
“Counting,” which samples Princess Superstar’s “Perfect,” has been his breakthrough single, being remixed by countless artists like Tape B, Taiki Nulight (played in a live set by Skrillex), and more.
Plus collaborations such as “Criminal” with Zeds Dead, there is no telling where this remix of “leavemealone” will take Hamdi next.
