Normal by Proxy Brings Shared, Browser-based Jamming For Up To 8 Players

Attack Mag - News - Feat Images Normal by Proxy

GOGDOG's new browser tool lets groups build tracks together in real time, with no downloads, accounts or saving required.

Developer GOGDOG has released Normal by Proxy, a free, browser-based space for making electronic music together in real time. Up to eight people can join a session using a five-letter room code, with no download or account needed.

The room contains four synths, two drum machines, a mixer and effects, alongside speakers and a text-to-speech "robot" that vocalises whatever users type. All actions are shared live: participants can see each other's cursors moving across the instruments, and any change, whether a knob turn or a new beat, is heard by everyone in the room instantly.

There is no timeline, save function or project structure. GOGDOG frames the tool as a practice space rather than a production environment, suited to collaborative jamming, teaching synthesis basics or simply experimenting together.

Normal by Proxy is available to try now at normalbyproxy.com, with an additional listing on itch.io.
