LA’s K-Pop-EDM Event, Electrik Seoul, Heads To AVALON Hollywood

After a rip-roaring debut at Academy LA last week, Los Angeles’ new K-pop-meets-EDM event, Electrik Seoul, has announced a move to AVALON Hollywood for its sophomore outing on Thursday, June 13.

Last Thursday’s Electrik Seoul launch brought the best of these two in-demand genres together under one roof, complete with a special K-pop set from 10-year veteran DJ Manila Killa—featuring reworks of BTS, New Jeans, and Le Sserafim tracks—and a surprise performance from K-Town rap hero Dumbfoundead.

Local K-pop merch store Choice Music gave away popular photo cards, the spiked boba drinks from Sunright Tea Studio were flowing, and attendees sang their favorite K-pop tunes, Karaoke-style, at the party, which went well past 2AM.

Electrik Seoul’s debut success has inspired event producer Nino Lee to scale up and go even bigger for the next edition, which promises to fuse AVALON’s rich history with the undeniable energy surrounding both K-pop and EDM as of late.

“We can’t wait to take this event to the next level and reshape the landscape for K-pop and EDM in Los Angeles and beyond,” Lee said in a press release.

Irrespective of name or ownership, the Spanish colonial theatre now known as AVALON has been at the nexus of Southern California’s prolific music scene for over 50 years. It’s become one of Hollywood’s most famous landmarks, hosting legendary shows from entertainment giants like The Beatles, Steve Wonder, Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars and many more.

Now, rising Korean stars and surprise guests will take the stage at the hallowed venue for the upcoming edition of Electrik Seoul. Organizers plan to use AVALON’s entire 1,500-capacity footprint to create a unique ambiance with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, cutting-edge sound, and no shortage of K-pop dances and sing-alongs.

“Now that we see the demand for an event of this nature, we’re not holding back,” said Lee, who promises this next event will be even greater than the last.
