Martin Garrix and Carolina Liar Light Up the Darkness With
Bubbly Dance Anthem, "Smile"
With his new single "Smile," Martin Garrix proves that sometimes the most powerful crescendos aren't measured in volume or bass, but in heart.
Out now via his own STMPD RCRDS imprint, the track finds Garrix trading his usual EDM thunder for a breezier approach, grounding his sound in an unexpected blend of bubbly indietronica and folksy charm.
Featuring vocals from Chad Wolf of the pop-rock band Carolina Liar, "Smile" is akin to sunshine after rain, offering a melodic lifeline to those caught in life's storms. Invoking yellow brick trains and radiant Joshua Tree sunbursts, his evocative songwriting shines with an earthy authenticity while extending a hand to hold when the world feels overwhelming.
"Smile" doesn't just invite happiness—it practically manufactures it, bottling candor and compassion into a three-minute dance anthem. Garrix in June debuted the song during his sold-out, four-night run at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, where Carolina Liar joined him onstage for a trio of uplifting live performances.
